Following the sale of Fisker Automotive and the Karma plug-in hybrid to Wanxiang in 2014, Henrik Fisker went on to establish Fisker Inc. to launch sustainable and accessible electric vehicles to North America. By utilizing Austrian automotive supplier Magna Styer for technological development and manufacturing, Fisker electric vehicles reduce overall production costs and development time to focus on technology and design of their vehicles. Currently Fisker’s lineup is headed by the Ocean mid-sized SUV while future models including the PEAR compact hatchback and Alaska pickup truck will follow in late 2024 and 2025. Fisker Inc. plans to partner with technology manufacturing giant Foxconn to produce the latter two models to keep out the door costs for consumers accessible.
Fisker’s first available EV launched in 2023, the Fisker Ocean comes with a futuristic design and ambitions to take on the Tesla Model X and other upcoming mid-sized electric SUVs at a more affordable price. Coming in either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, 80 kWh or 113 kWh battery options and 250 kW DC fast charging, the Fisker Ocean allows plenty of options for EV drivers looking for an affordable and longer-range clean SUV.
