The Electrified G80 brings a bespoke battery especially for the mid-sized luxury sedan that helped launch the Korean luxury brand. While not built on Hyundai Group’s E-GMP platform, the Electrified G80 takes many of its successful features including charging technology and electrical system and adds it into the Hyundai-Kia M3 platform it rides on. This creates a formidable entrant into the mid-sized luxury electric sedan class that gives competitors like the BMW i5, Mercedes-Benz EQE sedan and Tesla Model S new competition from Korea.
Electrified G80 buyers get a sleek and modern 4 door sedan that will set them apart from the usual European and Japanese luxury competition. In addition to Genesis technology that includes a 14.5” infotainment screen and Remote Smart Park Assist, Electrified G80 drivers receive access to active safety systems like lane keep assist, collision warning, and 360° monitoring.
The Electrified G80 comes with an 87.2 kWh battery powering a dual-motor all-wheel drive set-up. Drivers can take advantage of 282 EPA-certified miles per charge using a 11 kW with a Level 2 charger and up to 350 kW when utilizing a DC fast charger.
Charging at home is one of the many luxuries EVs provide, allowing drivers to start the day with a full charge and no range anxiety. The Enel X Way JuiceBox 48 home charging station provides 11.5 kW charging speeds and allows drivers to charge smart and efficiently with monitoring and scheduling capabilities, and the ability to connect to participating utility demand response programs.
